Thanks to new Classic release World of Warcraft subscription revenue grew 223%

According to Superdata, many of those returning were lapsed subscribers, leading to a significant spike in subscription revenue as they headed back to the game.

Superdata’s latest report suggests that subscription revenue from the game rose by “an estimated 223% in August compared to July.” That was enough to send the game flying up the analyst’s PC earnings chart, coming in at third place behind Dungeon Fighter Online and League of Legends. With respect to when the next WoW Classic phase will release, that is currently unknown. There has been indication that WoW Classic phase two, which will introduce content like Dire Maul and two world bosses, will come "around a couple of months" after launch, but no official release date has been revealed. As such, players may need to occupy themselves with WoW Classic's current content for at least one more month before anything new arrives.

Speaking of impressive World of Warcraft Classic-related statistics Pornhub Insights recently uncovered that on August 26, when players were faced with hours-long queues to get into the game, Pornhub searches for Warcraft-related terms rose by an eye-watering 210 percent above the daily average.
