Sneak Peek at Ecto Connect

Today we launched a corporate version of Ecto that we are calling Ecto Connect! Go to http://www.ectoconnect.com and check it out. You can log inn over there using your regular username and password. Everything works the same way - it just looks a little different.

I think this looks terrific for all kinds of uses in the corporate world. Any place where connectivity, collaboration and relevant content is required.

Love it, love it! Critical friend comment: Think about a deeper hue in the grey font text for "crispier" look; and simplify a little for the naive scrutinizer. There is corporate-ese, education-ese, IT-ese, etc.

We need simple-ese as much as possible. I read it and love it, I wonder about Jon Daube, our next non-IT smart guy to approach -- will he get it if I give him the URL?

I'll bet someone is translating the complexities of Cisco's 2.0 Human Network into very simple language and images for the website and especially TV ads into "common man-ese." Of course, Cisco has enormous resources while we have primarily our individual and collective genius -- which makes us smaller and more nimble, yes?

Simple gets the second look, complex gets the click-away unless one is an adept or an advocate...I think.

I'll second Sinnerio's comment about darkening the text hue -- didn't hit it with a pixel analyzer, but I'm unsure if the contrast is high enough to be disabled-friendly.
